During this week, Oracle’s real-time streaming analytics platform known as OEP (Oracle Event Processing) had a strategic rebrand, being called now as Oracle Stream Explorer. It still includes the complete, highly scalable, high performance event-driven runtime from OEP, but now with a new collection of visually impactful web tooling features.
The purpose of this rebranding is to elevate and accelerate the adoption of event processing to the “masses” and enabling the enterprise to now immerse itself in the next generation of real-time solutions, with a time to market in minutes rather than days or weeks.
In order to help first time users to work with Oracle Stream Explorer, I wrote this white paper that provides the basic information necessary to start building applications using Oracle Stream Explorer, also showing step-by-step how to develop a sample application based on the famous “Mall Scene” from the Minority Report film.
